Come and Sing! Experience the incredible feeling of being part of a group making music together. Nothing is more empowering!
About Kate Courage
Kate is a highly experienced teacher. She has worked in Early Years settings, primary schools, secondary schools, teacher training colleges, through music services, operatic societies and choirs. She has delivered many workshops, singing projects, and is a skilled trainer for educational music work.
Kate has conducted at the Royal Albert Hall twice, for the Music for Youth Schools Proms with a massed choir of five hundred young people, performing two of her songs, ‘World at my Feet’ and ‘Under the Same Sky’. With the Mendip Male Voice Choir, she conducted at Glastonbury Classical Festival when Katherine Jenkins was headlining, and at Bath Abbey, and Clifton Cathedral.
Who is this Kids Choir workshop aimed at?
Primarily at children in years 2-6, although if you have a very keen singer in year 1, who will not find two hours of singing fun, do sign them up!
No experience is necessary, and all songs will be taught by ear without music.
What will happen?
Arrive at Ham Farm Cottage by 9.55am, with a waterbottle and a snack. Bring an extra layer, because the workshop will be outside (under the marquee but no heating!)
Kate will lead you through fun group warm-ups, before teaching a few fun songs and rounds.
There will be a snack break midway, with an opportunity to run around a little and burn off some of the wiggles!
Parents will be asked to return in time for 11.45 to hear the kids share the songs they have learnt.
Safeguarding
Two adults will be present at the workshop, both of whom are experienced with working with children and have all the relevant DBS checks and insurance.
This workshop is £5. You can book your ticket on headfirst
